Ecological Research & Conservation Laboratory
This architectural project envisions the creation of an ecological research and conservation laboratory dedicated to the study and preservation of the diverse plant and animal species found in the Lea Valley. Situated in a city facing increasing pressures on its biodiversity, the facility will serve exclusively as a hub for scientists conducting research and a sanctuary for the conservation of local wildlife. To engage the local community without disrupting the ecosystem, a raised path encircles the surrounding nature, allowing locals to observe the marshes and wildlife without stepping on the habitat. The laboratory aims to foster a deeper understanding of the area’s ecosystems, promote conservation efforts, and combat the ongoing loss of species. Through this project, the goal is to contribute to the long-term health of the Lea Valley’s natural environment while providing a platform for innovative ecological solutions that can be applied on a broader scale.
